About Mend
What is Mend?
Mend (Mend Mental Wellness) offers self-guided bilateral stimulation sessions you can do at home. You follow a moving ball while alternating tones play. Mend's free sessions are guided videos. Mend's paid plans add a computer-generated voice guide that talks you through each part and answers your questions.
How a paid voice-guide session works
- Each session has three parts: your focus, the belief you'd rather hold, and a closing check-in.
- You can ask the voice guide questions, ask it to slow the ball down, or pause or end the session at any time.
- You can adjust ball speed, tone volume and voice volume, and read captions and a transcript of the conversation.
- A free preparation worksheet helps you choose your focus before you start. Your worksheet answers are designed to stay in your browser on your device.
Free and paid options
- Free: Mend's guided session videos (a moving ball and a recorded voice) on YouTube and at bilateralstimulation.site/emdr. The free videos don't answer questions.
- Mend Connected, US$19 a month: uses your own ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan to power the voice guide.
- Mend Complete, US$39 a month: no ChatGPT needed. Includes 80 minutes of sessions a month, up to 20 minutes per session.
- Paid plans can be cancelled at any time from your account.
- Paid plans are opening soon.
What Mend is not
- Mend is not therapy and not EMDR therapy. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it does not replace working with a qualified practitioner.
- Mend is not crisis support. If you're in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services or someone nearby who can help.
- Don't use Mend while driving or operating equipment.
- Mend is not hypnosis. You stay in control: you can talk, pause or end the session whenever you want.
- There's no person on the other end of a session. The voice guide is computer-generated.
Privacy in brief
During a paid voice session, your microphone audio and conversation text are sent to OpenAI to run the voice guide. Mend does not save raw microphone audio. Session captions are kept temporarily. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
